Richard Coles

Richard H. Coles is an independent director with extensive experience in legal, regulatory, and financial services matters. He is qualified as a solicitor in England and as an attorney‑at‑law in the Cayman Islands.

Mr. Coles served as the Attorney General of the Cayman Islands from 1992 to 1999, during which time he acted as a Member of Cabinet and the Legislative Assembly and, when required, as Acting Governor. Prior to his public service in the Cayman Islands, Mr. Coles was the founding partner of a law firm in England.

Since leaving public office, Mr. Coles has served as a non‑executive director for various hedge funds, investment companies, and structured finance vehicles. He joined ND Capital in 2006, based in the firm’s Grand Cayman office. He previously served as Chairman of Cayman Finance, where he participated in initiatives to support and promote the jurisdiction’s financial services sector.

Mr. Coles has also held several public service positions, including Chairman of the Anti‑Corruption Commission and Chairman of the Human Rights Commission. He has served as a member of the Judicial and Legal Services Commission.

His professional affiliations include membership in the Law Society of England, the Caymanian Bar Association, and the Commonwealth Lawyers Association. He is a Fellow of the Caribbean Law Institute and a Freeman of the City of London.
